ASHTON SIXTH CELEBRATES STRONG RESULTS
Ashton Sixth students are enjoying strong results today and rightly celebrating their successes. Academic and vocational subjects have done incredibly well and progress has been outstanding. Head of Ashton Sixth, Rowena Hector said: “I’m incredibly proud of each individual student and their achievements, particularly in these challenging times. Their hard work and dedication has paid off and they deservedly all will follow their chosen paths. Well done.”
A Level subjects fared particularly well with many students securing top grades and gaining their first choice university places. Vocational subjects results were equally outstanding and the partnership with Bristol City Robins Foundation continues to return exceptional results. Robins Foundation Head of Education, Chris Stenner said: “I am very proud to see all of our students passing the course, with 60% of students graduating receiving distinctions. This shows the partnership with Ashton Park and the nature of the course, provides students with the opportunity and belief that they can achieve.”
Many of our students have chosen Bristol University to read subjects such as Law, Biochemistry, Economics, Sociology, Cognitive NeuroScience and Geography. Other universities include Psychology at Cardiff, Sport Science and Physiotherapy at Loughborough and Sports Management and Performance at Bath University. Further destinations include Brighton, UWE and Nottingham Trent. Apprenticeship places have also been strong and diverse and some of our students are heading for the Police Service, Civil Service and NHS to name but a few.
Headteacher, Nick John said: “I am thrilled for all our students and staff at Ashton Sixth. Their dedication and commitment has enabled them to move forward confidently. We wish them the very best in their onward journeys to education, employment or training and their future successes.”
