A level Biology Microscopy

Today Year 12 Biologist produced slides of xylem and phloem tissue from celery.  They had to carefully cut a transverse section through the stem, stain it and then mount it on a slide.  Students showed expert skills, slicing very thin sections, only a couple of cells thick, and then focussing the microscope on the correct areas.  From the pictures it is quite clear to see the plant cells in the different tissues of the plant.  Well done to Arty, Ruby and Jess on their excellent practical skills
