At Ashton Park School students have been celebrating their GCSE results with a sense of pride and satisfaction this week.
Students of all abilities secured the results they needed to successfully progress to the next phase of their education, including a growing number of students achieving top grades across the board.
As always there were a huge number of individual successes that were met with much joy and excitement. There was a significant increase in students achieving grades 7, 8 and 9 across a broad range of subjects, especially in science. Equally valued were some of the achievements of students attached to the schools specialist learning resource provision and pupil support base.
The results in Arts, Textiles and Photography were excellent and the improvements in Triple Science were particularly pleasing as this is an area of the curriculum which is growing in popularity each year.
Headteacher, Nick John acknowledged the hard work of staff and students as well as the support of parents as key to the school’s success.
‘’As a community we celebrate all our students’ achievements with pride and wish them well as they move on to sixth form study, apprenticeships and college. On behalf of the staff and Governors I would like to thank students for their significant contribution to the school over the last 5 years.’’
