Community Apprentice Challenge2018 – Winners

Last week our Envision Team of Red, Lucy, Arthur, Louis, Cassie, Karina & Quin won the overall Community Apprentice Competition for their funding raising efforts for OTR (Off The Record). Lucy, Louis, Karina and Cassie also won individual awards and our Mentors from St James Place won the Mentoring Award. So all round a near clean sweep. They were judged on;
• amount raised – final total raised in 1 week- £1102.65
• grit and resilience
• creativity
• the final presentation
They have spent 12 weeks of hard work and commitment after school to complete two amazing presentations and organise their fundraising activities.
The first presentation was to gain match funding from St James Place to a maximum of £100 based on their presentation, they were awarded £93. The final presentation was to a panel of five senior managers from industry and our competitors were; Bedminster Down, Redland Green, Colston Girls and Fairfield schools. Despite last-minute setbacks, they still remained calm and confident in their presentation which was unique in style and showed passion for their cause. For some, it has been a roller coaster of a journey having to overcome many obstacles and setbacks but despite this, they have shown enormous resilience. It has been a privilege to work with them, see them develop new skills and to reap the rewards they truly deserve. They should be proud of their achievements and are excellent Ambassadors for the school.
