This is an exciting opportunity to lead a large, dynamic curriculum area in one of the highest
achieving schools in Bristol. We expect and challenge our students to achieve their very
best in their formal lessons and in all aspects of their learning. The CTL for Humanities
leads History, Geography and RE from Yr7 to Yr13. All three subjects are offered at GCSE
and A-Level and their results are all above the national average. In the last year, we have
spent a long time developing a new knowledge-rich KS3 curriculum and we are looking for
an excellent candidate to continue this work.
Redland Green is one of the two learning communities in the North Bristol Post 16 Centre
successfully providing outstanding learning for our students. We have a full programme of
professional development for all staff, which means that teaching and our students’
progress is outstanding.

Business Studies is a successful and popular curriculum area at Redland Green and forms part of BITE, the curriculum area for Business, IT & Economics. There are currently a team of 5 teachers.

The successful candidate will be able to teach Business Studies at AS and A2 as well as BTEC First and Nationals.

Experience of teaching BTEC Business National on the new (NQF) framework would be highly desirable.

We also have a requirement for some KS3 Maths teaching. This does not necessarily require any previous Maths teaching experience, but you must be willing to take this on as part of the role.

Strong relationships with students and a focused approach to attainment that leads students to believe they can exceed their own expectations are central to the department’s ethos.

Our students are enthusiastic and responsive and central to their success is expert guidance from teachers who are prepared to view them as individuals.

Purpose of the Job

The role is currently based at Redland Green School however in future could be based at a different
school within the Trust or a separate location in close proximity to the Trust’s schools. Some travel
between the Trust’s sites will be required.
